e are surrounded by technology and many of us can’t
imagine living without it. Some perceive it as a ‘curse’;
for others
,
it’s a natural way of evolution. Whichever side you
are on, I believe we can’t argue with the fact that technology
has led to the spread of the availability of education and has
brought a great number of opportunities never available before.
Some years ago, participating in international conferences
came at great expense while nowadays
,
we can easily take
part in them on the Internet. The youngest learners grow up
surroundedby laptops and gadgets connected to the Internet.
They are no strangers to apps, games or even their school
grades available online. You may try but
,
in the long run,
there is no escape from it. Time became more valuable than
gold and technology helps us to save it and make activities
like learning, available without even leaving the house.
I am myself hopelessly addicted to my mobile phone.
It’s at the same time my biggest enemy and friend.
I have switched from using a paper dictionary and use the
one installed on my phone. Many schools have already
invested in iPads on which students work and participate
in classes. Interactive boards are also more common
,
and
even online classes seem to be gaining teachers’ trust.
Where is it all going? Iwill let youdecide.
For now, I am happy to present you the latest issue of
The Teacher
magazine with a few articles that
,
hopefully,
will help you implement technology into your teaching practice.
